Weird Couple Tells Waitress She Should Be Home Taking Care Of Her Nonexistent Husband

A South Carolina Cracker Barrel waitress recently
received a "tip" to stay home and be a housewife
because Jesus.
It seems there's a certain segment of the population that gets off on telling wait staff in restaurants what to do with their personal lives.

Don't be gay, don't be fat, whatever.

A waitress at a South Carolina Crackle Barrel was recently told that she shouldn't be working, that her job is to stay home and take care of her husband and kids

Never mind said waitress has neither a husband, nor kids, notes television station WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Instead of leaving a monetary tip, the couple left a "tip" in the form a handwritten message on a napkin.

I'll leave the grammatical mistakes intact in the note, as that's not exactly the biggest problem. Here's what the note said:

"The womans place is in the home You're place is in the home. It even says so in the Bible. You may think that your  contributing to your household by coming into work, but yournot.

While your in here 'working' this is the reason your husband must see another women on his way home from a long day at his work. Because you shoudl be home taking care of the household duties. You may think what you are doing 'working' is right, it is really essentially a disgrace to his manhood and to the American family.

So instead of coming to your 'job' and ooking for hand out's to feed your family hows about going home and cleaning your house and cooking a hot meal for your husband and children, the way you're husband and God intended, and help make America great again. Praying for families and our nation.

Love,
The Watley's."

As you can imagine, I don't know where to begin with the Watleys'  note. How many households can even affort to have someone stay home to be a housewife?

I'm being Captain Obvious here, but if a guy's wife is working and is so distraught by that he has to go find another woman to screw around with, isn't that the guy's fault and problem, and not the wife's?

Do the Watleys believe men have absolutely no self control?

If we took all the women out of the workforce so they can play wifey homemaker at home, wouldn't that screw things up. And the Watleys must be completely freaking out that a woman is poised to become the U.S. President instead of staying home and feather dusting the furniture at home to make Bill happy.

For the record, WBTV says the waitress who got the note does have a boyfriend who she says it's quite supportive of her going to work. Especially since she's using some of the income to further her education. To you know, find a more rewarding job where she doesn't have to put up the the Watleys' nonsense.

Dear Morons: ISIS Bookstore In Denver Not Run By Terrorists

Note to morons: This is a peaceful New Age store
in Colorado, not a terrorist advetising tool.
Theres's a retail shop outside of Denver owned by a perfectly nice couple.

It's called Isis Books & Gifts and it sells books and gifts about religion, spirituality and healing. They have supplies for Tarot readers, the Wicca community, essential oils, that type of thing.

As most normal people would expect, Isis Books and Gifts, which has been there in Englewood, Colorado for something like two decades, is named after an Egyptian goddess of women and healing.

But morons and hysterics are around us, and these doofuses think since the place is named Isis, its a terrorist organization brazenly advertising itself right in suburban Denver.

So they keep vandalizing the place, according to the AP.

I guess part of the problem is the media, including me, keeps calling the horrible terrorist organization responsible for the Paris attacks and another zillion atrocities ISIS. The name sounds cool. A lot of people in government call the terrorists ISIL, and I should probably start doing the same

Still, people are stupid, and they see the word ISIS and start screaming "Terrorist!" And they keep vandalizing the little book store in Englewood, Colorado because they're too stupid to know any better.

On the bright side, the store's owners say the business at the store remains steady, even if they have to keep repairing signs and such after the stupid people come through.

They also have no plans to change the name of the store. After all, the Egyptian goddess the store is named after is a sign of peace.

And Lord knows we could use more peace. And fewer morons.

Coca-Cola Ad Proves Any Commercial Will Bring Out The Dumb Crazies

Coca-Cola thought they had a winning ad concept. Actually, they did!
A woman in a headscarf in a soda commercial
with people singing "America The Beautiful"
in another language. Horrors!

Why not have people sing "America The Beautiful" in different languages?

It would be throwback to that famous early 1970s Coke commercial when a diverse group of people crooning on a hillside wanted to "teach the world to sing in perfect harmony."

So off Coca-Cola went and did their multilingual "America The Beautiful" ad to run during the Superbowl

Perfect!

America is full of different kinds of people. Many of them are immigrants who brought their own cultures, own habits here, to mix into that proverbial melting pot and continue the centuries long tradition of changing and strengthening the country.

The different but unifying takes on "America The Beautiful" would tie that nicely together, no?

No.

Not in this age of ugly "discourse"

The extreme right wing went ballistic with the ad. I've got a classic example.

Over at a site called Breitbart, we had this, written by some bonehead named Michael Patrick Leahy:

"Executives at Coca Cola thought it would be a good idea to run a 60-second Superbowl ad featuring children singing "America The Beautiful," a deeply Christian patriotic anthem whose theme is unity -in several foreign languages. The ad also prominently features a gay couple....
....The lyrics of the song, written in 1893 by Wellesley College Professor Katherine Lee Bates, ask God to grant America 'brotherhood from sea to shining sea.'

As far as executives at Coca Cola are concerned, however, the United States of America is no longer a nation ruled by the Constitution and American traditions in which English is the language of government. It is not a nation governed in the Anglo-American tradition of liberty. It is instead a nation governed by some all inclusive multi-cultural synthesis of the various forms of government in the world, as expressed by the multiple languages used in the Superbowl ad."

Whew! I don't know where to start with his little editorial. Generally I wouldn't, because fighting with a skunk gets you all stinky, but I'll give it a whirl with this clown Michael Patrick Leahy.

OK, the song has a Christian influence, with its reference to God and all. But since when is Christianity limited to English speakers? A Christian churchgoer in, say, El Salvador who only speaks Spanish isn't really a Christian? Huh?

Leahy mentions the gay couple in the ad. Um, gay people live here, and most of them seem to love America and think America is beautiful. (I'm one of them!) So, the problem is????

"America The Beautiful" was indeed written by Katherine Lee Bates. Not that it matters at all, but she was gay. Just sayin.

How is singing "America the Beautiful" in other languages unconstitutional?  I don't even see a mention of "America the Beautiful" in the Constitution. Or any requirement to speak English, for that matter.

How is the ad not unifying? They're people of different backgrounds coming together as one unit to sing the praises of America. Leahy, you're confusing me!

Leahy also says English is the language of our government. True enough. But I don't believe the people in the Coca-Cola ad were government employees singing on behalf of the government. They were singing on behalf of Coca Cola, to help them sell more soda. Capitalism! What's wrong with that? Isn't capitalism part of the American tradition too?

How do the people in the Coca-Cola ad violate our sense of liberty? They were free to sing the song and they do. We are free to like or dislike the ad. Liberty!

How is this ad making the United States governed by some sort of synthesis of other governments in the world? I can't find any suggested in the ad that our government should change.

And I don't think our government changed to something weird and foreign because a bunch of people were singing in different languages during a commercial break from a football game.

I'm picking on this Leahy character but judging from social media in the past couple of days, there are a lot of people at least as dumb as he is.

Look, xenophobia has been a strain running through America ever since it started. Every generation of people who immigrated here who spoke different languages were despised by a minority of people. And most immigrants who came here spoke various languages, and as they settled in, most of them t switched to English, or at least their offspring did.

So the bleatings of Leahy, all those Twitter trolls who agree with him and their ilk are nothing new.  I'm amused by the sense of victimhood here, though. All those damn foreigners changing America. As if that hasn't been the case for more than 200 years. Oh well.

I also know people like me and reporters bringing up the "debate" over this Coke ad are overhyping it. I know that most people, including a large proportion of conservatives either like the ad or don't give a damn about it either way.

And yes, I'm feeding the trolls by bringing all this up. But I still think a great way to use the American tradition of free speech (enshrined in the Constitution!) is to use free speech to mock and ridicule people who use their right to free speech to say dumb, damaging things.

That way, maybe we can move on to things that matter, rather than scream and holler for weeks on end about a pleasant but inconsequential television ad for soda pop.

Besides, all the outraged right wingers who are threatening to boycott Coca-Cola because of the ad are stirring up a lot of interest in the soft drink giant, so they're probably selling more Coke than ever before.

Here's the ad if you haven't seen it. Below the ad is a video from Brenda Wood, an anchorwoman from WXIA in Atlanta. You have to watch/listen to her commentary. It's such a great takedown of the bigots.

Uintah: Worst Public School On The Planet Literally Snatches Food From Kids Because Parents Behind On Payments

Congratulations to Uintah Elementary School in Salt Lake City for being by far the worst public school on the planet.
Uintah Elementary School in Salt Lake City, where
the lunchroom bully is apparently the school's
so-called nutrition manager.

I bestow this "honor" on Uintah because some food service managers there who were pissed off because some parents were behind on their kids' lunch payments, snatched the lunch trays away from the kids whose parents who hadn't paid, and threw them in the trash, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

This of course happened in front of the students' classmates, so the food managers bullied the kids, set the Worst. Possible. Example., wasted food, and are basically evil people.

I can't believe so far nobody has been brought up on child abuse charges over this. Nobody has been fired yet, either, which is amazing, though I'm sure that will happen. At least I hope so. A lot of heads need to roll here.

At first, the school offered a pretty weak apology.

"If students were humilated and upset...that's very unfortunate and not what we wanted to happen," said school district spokesman Jaosn Olsen said, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Oh, come on!  That's EXACTLY what whoever was responsible for this wanted to happen!  The idiots, who put new meaning into the word "vindictive" WANTED to humiliate the kids, it seems to me,  because they wanted to take it out on somebody. They couldn't reach the parents to humiliate them, so let's pick on the kids!

So I guess there's school sanctioned bullying and child abuse.   It does make me wonder if the idiots in charge of Uintah Elementary School let bullying go on unimpeded.

Another sad thing there are probably a number of educators and food workers and administrators at Uintah Elementary School who have the students' best interests at heart.  The Tribune article noted some employees in the school cafeteria wept when they saw what was going on, but were powerless to do anything about it.

By bullying these kids over really what was a pittance in lunch money, the people who did this surely demoralized the educators who do give a damn about the kids and want them to thrive.  So those good educators are probably less effective now.

Way to create an environment where kids learn!

Since then, after the initially weak "apology" and no doubt because there was a huge, building and understandably torrentially angry outcry among parents, the school put out a Facebook message.

The Facebook message said in part:

"We understand the feelings of upset parents and students who say this was an embarrassing and humiliating situation. We again apologize and commit to working with parents in rectifying this situation to ensuring students are never treated in this manner again."

Notice the careful language here, avoiding responsibility. It refers to upset parents and students who say  this was an embarrassing situation. The word say suggests an attitude of "Well, they SAY they were embarrassed but they're just trying to draw attention to themselves."

The rest of the Facebook post is full of excuses. Well, we tried to get ahold of the parents, we did give the affected students some fruit and milk, yada yada yada.

The school did concede this should have been handled in a different manner.

Ya think?

What in the world was the school trying to gain? They weren't recouping any money from parents who didn't pay because they threw the food out. The school said they threw the food out because it couldn't be served to other kids who did pay once it was placed on a tray.

THEN LET THE DAMN KID EAT HIS FOOD AND DEAL WITH HIS OR HER PARENTS LATER!!!!  I can't believe anybody is that stupid so as to just throw their food away.

Of course, they're not that stupid  As I said, somebody in that school really wanted to humiliate those kids.  Certainly not the majority of people who work there, but one or two people. It only takes one bully to really make a mess of things.

Now this story has gone viral, and the decent people of the world are sending terribly angry messages to the school from all over the world. You should read the comments on their non apology apology Facebook post!

Feel free to go there and post your own thoughts. (Though please, no threats or ugly language please.)

Incredibly Stupid Milk Gallon Smashing Fad Gets Highly Welcome Crackdown From Cops

All kinds of weird fads get going on line these days. Everybody was doing Gangnam Style last year, until everybody threw up from being so sick of it. Other people were planking, laying stiff as a board on all kinds of objects and settings.

Nothing really wrong with all that. Doesn't hurt anybody.  Those fads almost never causes much in the way of damage or waste. Knock yourself out if you want to do it.

The gallon smashing kids morons at
work in their stupid video
But a fad that started this year was both incredibly stupid, incredibly wasteful and made a mess to boot. It just proves humans' huge capacity to outdo each other with moronic behavior.

In late February, two brothers and a cousin named Omar, Zayd and Faysal Khatib uploaded to YouTube what they thought was a hilarious video of them going into supermarkets and smashing gallons of milk and other beverages onto the floor, according to Gawker.

They'd pretend to trip and fall, smashing the jugs on the floor and sometimes other customers.  OK, these kids are definitely not slapstick comic geniuses. Do us a favor pals, and stay out of comedy. And video. You have no future there.

As these things sometimes do, the Khatibs' video went viral and unfortunately spawned lots of immitators. A fad was born.

Got Milk? Probably not. Some stupid kids probably smashed the jugs all over the supermarket floor before you could buy any.

The Khatibs, who call themselves "three cheeky kids with a camcorder," pulled the video off of YouTube not long after it appeared and sort of apologized, but not really.

According to Washington City Paper:

".....the three pranksters were asked whether they felt bad about flopping all over local grocery stores. 'We kind of do now,' said Omar. 'But I mean, it was just an innocent prank.'

Yeah, an innocent prank, of course. But kids, I mean morons, somebody had to pay for all that spilled milk. I'm sure that was a pleasant experience, seeing how it was splashed all over EVERYTHING.  And somebody had to be paid by somebody to clean their mess up. The Kathibs surely didn't clean up, self entitled jerks that they are.

Are you making money off your YouTube channel, stupid Khatib brothers and cousin?  Then maybe some of that money should have gone to the poor guy or gal that had to pick up after you

Well, now Fairfax County, Virginia prosecutors are bringing seven misdemeanor charges of destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

And copycats in other states are getting charges brought against them, too.

By the way, the three have a YouTube channel with lots of other pranks they've done that were not nearly as destructive as the milk thing.  I made the HUGE mistake of checking out a couple of their videos. Those few minutes watching are a few minutes of my life wasted that I'll never get back.

Don't let this happen to you!

In a way, it's too bad these kids are in legal trouble. They'll have to pay lawyers fees and maybe some fines. That money would certainly be better spend on learning to shoot videos, and learning to get a sense of humor. And learning to just shut up and leave the rest of the world alone already.
