Randy Rainbow's "If You Ever Got Impeached" Is His Latest Brilliance in Show Tune Political Parody

Randy Rainbow's parody songs on the Trump administration are awesome
His latest, the one that went the most viral is "If You Ever Got Impeached."
If you're a Donald Trump fan, you might as well move along to the next post, nothing to see here, you don't want to be offended.

Those of you who aren't such ardent fans of the president might like the video at the bottom of this post.

It's a little strange but brilliant.

Randy Rainbow has a YouTube page in which he gaily parodies famous old songs. He's got more than a bit of Broadway in him, and he uses these skills to great comic effect.

Each video starts off with Randy pretending to be one of those awful cable news reporters doing interviews, then he breaks into song. Before you start watching any of these awesome videos, do know they're definitely NSFW.

His latest effort is a takeoff on the song "If I Only Had A Brain" from The Wizard of Oz.

He does have a great voice, in addition to the comedy.

Before we get into that, he's got other gems you might check out. "Omarosa!" about Trump's former reality star performer and aide, is set to the music of "Oklahoma!" Another one, involving Rudy Guiliani, is "Rudy And the Beast," set to "Beauty And The Beast."  From last fall, there's a performance called "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Korea," which of course if from the "Sound Of Music."

Perhaps his song "Yes, We Have No Steve Bannon" is my favorite. Over the top, for sure, but awesome. There's a bonus reggae track in there in which Randy Rainbow comforts Bannon bh singing "Everything's Going to Be Alt-Right." Spoiler Alert: At the end of the video Randy, playing a fruit salesman says, "Can I interest you in a rotten orange with thin skin and no taste?"

There's many more Randy Rainbow videos to check out as well. This guy is brilliant!

By the way, I also absolutely love Randy's reading glasses.

Here, the performance is "If You Ever Got Impeached." It starts off as a bizarro world effort as a news interview with Trump, and then it goes from there. Worth the watch for some of us, at least:

My Favorite Sportscaster Strikes Again, This Time Taking On Texas Racism

WFAA-TV sportscaster Dale Hansen brilliantly
unpacks what's behind a racist moment during
a high school basketball game in a Texas suburb
I rarely pay attention to sports in Texas. I don't search out sports anchors on Texas television stations.

With the exception of Dale Hansen. The sports desk chief at WFAA-TV in Dallas is brilliant.

I first saw him in action a little over a year ago, when football player Michael Sam came out as gay.

Hansen, a gruff white-haired no-nonsense type of guy, had a perfect reaction to people who were appalled that a football player was gay.

Basically he wondered how men who assault women, drive drunk and kill other people on the road, are caught with prostitutes in hotel rooms and that type of thing are welcome in the NFL, but a guy who says he loves another man goes too far.

Hansen said this in conservative Texas, by the way.

Our sportscaster Hansen is back again. This time, a high school basketball game in suburban Flower Mound, Texas featured teenagers holding two signs next to each other as their school faced off against a predominately black team.

One sign said "White." The other said "Power."

Lovely.

Hansen was back on WFAA last week with another excellent rant over this one. As Talking Points Memo noted, he blasted prents in Flower Mound who said the signs were just an accidental paring of signs alongside each other.

He remembed as a kid growing up in Iowa, his father would always call black people the n-word, but still spoke highly of a black family in the town that everyone knew and liked. He said his mind was twisted by his father's casual dismissal of African-Americans, and parents in Flower Mound were doing the same.

"Kids have to be taught to hate it's our parents and grandparents, and our teachers and coaches, too, who teach us to hate....Kids become the product of that environment. I was. And they are.

"I changed and they can, too. But not if we try to defend what you cannot defend and not if we stay silent and think taking their signs away is doing enough.

"the world will not be destroyed by those who do evil but by those who watch them," Hansen concluded, quoting Albert Einstein.

Predictably, the comments section of the YouTube video of Hansen's editorial is full of racist, ignorant comments, but at least there are some thoughtful ones, too.

I'm also happy when sportscasters like Hansen focus on the ethics and morals of people in sports. A lot of people look up to athletes as role models. That's a cliche, but a true one. So they ought to be held to some sort of standard.

When Hansen finished his on-air discussion, one of the other anchors said Hanson was sure to end up with a very full email in box. I'm sure that's true.

Somehow, I doubt Hansen will mind all that much.

Here's the video, totally worth watching:

Actors Turn YouTube Teenage Flame War Into Hilarious Theatre

As anyone who has even glanced at YouTube knows, the comments section of many videos more often than not turns into a sewer of incredibly immature and moronic arguments, flame wars if you will, with people just announcing to each other that they're stupid and should just die.

And I'm making it seem more intelligent than it is.

A brilliant new YouTube video produced by Adrian Bliss turns one of these inane arguments into comedy brilliance.

The worst and stupidest YouTube comments arguments involve the relative merits of pop bands that appeal to teenage girls.

Reacting to the video for "What Makes You Beautiful" by the boy band One Direction, viewers "Sophe Danze" and "Jillianlovesthebeibs" got into one of these horrible, um discussions.

Bliss hired two Serious Actors, Grahme Edwards and Eryl Lloyd Parry, who Bliss says are much nicer in real life, to reenact the fight. The acting, the cinematography and the score of this short film are absolutely priceless. Now you can watch this brilliance, below:

Jonathan Winters Was the Best at Improv

Anyone paying attention to the news since Friday knows that comedy legend Jonathan Winters died Friday at the age of 87.

He was awesome at his craft for a lot of reasons, but a lot of observers note Winters was a master at improv, able to do anything with no practice, no good prompts, and keep going and going, staying funny the entire time.

To prove it, here's Jonathan Winters with Jack Paar in 1964. Paar handed Winters a stick, and told him to just use that as a basis for his comedy. What follows is pure hilarity.  Where the hell did he come up with all these ideas, all those characters,  so quickly.
