A New Take On Old "El Paso." With Politics And Comedy!

Marty Robbins had a huge hit in 1959 with the song "El Paso."

You know the tune ...."Out in the west Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl...."

As we know, Donald Trump visited El Paso this week to tout his silly border wall, falsely claiming that El Paso was a violent mess before they put up fence along the Mexican border there.

Which gave Stephen Colbert the chance to update the song a little bit. Colbert's version starts, "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso, I saw a speech by a man Putin adores."

Yeah, it goes on from there. Have a listen and a look:

Are You Ready To Be Emotionally Manipulated, Er, I Mean Watch Super Bowl Ads?

A scene from "The Most Manipulative Super Bowl Ad Ever"
I admit I get into this every year around this time:  The Super Bowl ads appear, and you have all these images that tug at your heart strings, like the soldiers coming home, the Budweiser Clydesdale horses saving the day, or whatever.

I get sucked into all this, and I end up liking some of these ads. And sharing them. Which of course is what the sponsors of these ads want us to do.

I'll probably get so taken in by these ads I will end up sharing them with you in this here blog thingy. But oh, well.

Stephen Colbert has gotten us ready for this onslaught by airing an ad he and his team invented, called the "The Most Emotionally Manipulative Super Bowl Ad Ever." It's got everything: America, homecomings, puppies, tragedy, pride, warmth, people on the job, dedicated people. And of course the corporate product at the end.

To prepare yourself for the Super Bowl ad season, here's the clip from The Late Show With Stephen Colbert:

The Muppets And Sean Spicer Are "Phenomenal" Doing The Classic "Mahna Mahna" Song.

The Muppets and Sean Spicer have unwittingly collaborated
on a "phenomenal" new version of "Mahna Mahna."
The famous Muppet song, "Mahna Mahna " has gotten many parody treatments over the years and I've got another one for ya.

Last October, during the Presidential debates, I brought you a Mahna Mahna episode in which we had Hillary Cliinton enduring Donald Trump's gibberish.

Now he's president, and he and his spokesmodel, Sean Spicer keep reminding us of what a "phenomenal" job the Trump administration is doing.

Naturally, then, the ever-helpful Late Show With Stephen Colbert brought us this brief but glorious Mahna Mahna collaboration between the Muppets and Sean Spicer, with an assist from Trump himself.

You're welcome.

Bubble Burst Bernie Points To Fun New Video Game

Whatever happens with Bernie Sanders next, at
least he inspired a potential video game with all
his pointing out things.
Stephen Colbert of the Late Show has a genius idea.

It was literally pointed out to him by Bernie Sanders.

Sanders makes lots of points during his stump speech, pointing out those points with his always pointed finger, pointing out money in politics, pointing out economic inequality. You get the idea

All this pointing has Colbert dreaming up a new video game.

Introducing, Bubble Burst Bernie!
