Florida Again: Woman Has Gross Way Of Ruining Kid's Birthday Party

Heather Carpenter of Florida, naturally, is accused of spreading
crap all over tables and grills at a park because a school principal
she hates planned a birthday party for her daughter at the
park later that day.
A now presumably former substitute teacher in, yes, Florida apparently really hates the principal at the school where she worked.

This idiot, Heather Carpenter showed up at Urfer Park in Sarasota County, Florida at 6:30 a.m. on December 1 and spread feces all over the wooden tables and grills at the pavilion in the park, says Fox 13 News in Tampa.

The alleged reason: The principal at the school where she worked planned a birthday party for her daughter at the park. All the kids in the class were invited, including Carpenter's kid. But Carpenter was having some sort of dispute with the principal, so she decided to act like the shitty person she is.

The party had to be canceled, and the county had to replace all the tables and grills. They were too far gone to be cleaned. In all this cost the county $2,310, including labor costs. And the principal's poor kid didn't have her birthday party.

Lots of people use parks in a busy place like Sarasota County, and there's people milling about, even at 6:30 in the morning. One of them was a guy named Mike Hutchinson, who caught Carpenter doing this, spreading the crap around while wearing a surgical mask and blue rubber gloves.

She fled, but police later figured out who she, in part because of Hutchinson's description of her, and they arrested her. She faces felony criminal mischief and properth damage charges, Fox 13 says.

On the bright side, of sorts, she upheld Florida's reputation as a place where people go to commit weird, weird, crimes.

French Man Mysteriously Trashes Apple Store With A Steel Ball

The guy in the pink t-shirt and glasses smashed
several Apple devices in a French shopping mall
because upset he was not reimbursed for something.
A weird guy came into an Apple store inside a Dijon, France shopping mall and decided to start smashing iPhones and other goods with a steel ball.

I guess that's the stupid news of the day.

It appears our gentleman was dismayed that the Apple store did not give him a refund he thought he deserved.

According to The Independent, the man, dressed in sunglasses, a maroon sweatshirt, a pink shirt and a white Michael Jackson-esque glove on one hand, said, "Apple is a compnay that violated European consumer rights. They refused to reimburse me. I told them, 'Give me my money back.' They said no. So you know what is happening? This is happening!"

He said this as he smashed down on one iPhone after another with the steel ball in his gloved hand.  He also smashed a few Mac books. '

Shoppers video'd this guy, so there were plenty of witnesses. He tried to run away as security guards approached him, but of course they caught him.

I have a feeling that he's going to out a lot more money than whatever he thought Apple owed him. Police arrested him and at last check he was in custody.

Here's a video or two of this Apple hating guy in action:

Here's a video of the guy after his rampage trying to escape, and looking like he's unhappy he's being detained:

Totally Horrible Woman Defaces Nature, Thinks It's Art

Casey Nocket's horrible "artwork"
in Yosemite National Park.
Today on Gawker, I read about my new least favorite person in the world, Casey Nocket.

I'd never heard of her until today, either. But she's apparently been traveling the nation, to some of our most beautiful national parks. She paints these horrible ugly pieces of "artwork" on rocks on scenic locations, which I guess in her mind is "improving" the look of nature.

Modern Hiker first brought news of the Wrath of Nocket to the public:

"According to her Instagram feed, Nocket has been traveling quite extensively - she has photos tagged from all over the West, including stops in Carrizo Plain National Monument, Sequoia, Bryce, Zion, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Rocky Mountain and Joshua Tree National Parks."

The only good thing about the obnoxious Casey Nocket is, she's in trouble big time. More from Modern Hiker:

"..... what Ms. Nocket is doing will not only get her some likes on Instagram, but will most likely result in a few felony vandalism charges once the Park Service catches up with her. And since, like most modern park vandals, she left a rich social media trail, it will likely only be a matter of time before that happens. Reddit already appears to be on the case."

Given the very negative attention to this, plus Nocket's apparent sudden awareness that she could be facing jail time, she took down her Instagram, Tumblr and other social media accounts.

Like that would do any good. All the right people have already seen your social media bragging, Casey, so you're screwed.

As I write this, the most recent post on the Reddit thread concerning this case is from a guy named Steve Yu, an investigator at Yosemite National Park.
More hideousness left behind by
Casey Nocket.

He tells everyone thanks for the info, he's on the case. Yu does ask that Nocket be afforded due process, meaning we shouldn't harass her, which is fair enough.

Already, Nocket's Tumblr account is reactivated, but I agree with Modern Hiker that it has been taken over by an Internet troll who is baiting people, and Nocket is not in the picture.

Still, let's state the obvious: Nocket is a narcisstic, self-entitled, moronic horrible person who thinks what she does is soooooo much better than what nature has to offer.

I notice she did her "artwork" in acrylic paint, which is awfully hard to get rid of.

Let's get real, Casey. Even if your artwork was legal, it sucks. And why the hell do you think we'd rather see your "creepytings" drawings, as you call them, than the beauty of our national parks.

Yeah, right, Casey, you're the most glorious person on the planet.

I hope you spent lots and lots of years in prison, and then you're made to scrub and scrub and scrub all the rocks clean in the middle of 100 degree midsummer heat waves.

You're pathetic, Casey Nocket.

Artist Destroys Another Artist's $1 Million Vase Because Local Museum Doesn't Show Local Art

In what has to be the stupidest, most misguided protest I've seen in a long time, a Miami artist strolled into a museum, picked up a valuable vase by a Chinese artist that was on display there, and smashed it to pieces on the floor.
A Miami artist destoyed one of these vases
by a Chinese artist because he wanted more
local art shown in Miami musuems.

The destroyed work might have been worth as much as $1 million.

According to the Miami New Times, Artist Maximo Caminero said he smashed the vase as a protest because local museums seemed to never display works by local artists.

Like himself, apparently.

"I did it for all the local artists in Miami that have never been shown in museums here....They have spent so many millions now on international artists. It's the same political situation over and over again. I've been here for 30 years and it's always the same," Caminero told the New Times.

Well, what a huff!  The local museum doesn't show local artists so I'll just destroy works of art by people from overseas. A little self-centered, are we?

Maybe if Caminero destroys enough works from overseas artists they'll have no choice but to show his own stuff, right?

Or not.

The work he destroyed was by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. Caminero said he had no idea it was worth that much. Judging from the photos of the vases, I would have had no idea they were worth that much, either.

Geez, they're nice, but..

Anyway, here's what Caminero had to say:

"But honestly, I had no idea the vase had any value. I admire Ai Weiwei greatly and have always supported his actions while he was suffering indignities from the Chinese government," Camiero said.

Caminero faces a charge of felony criminal mischief for his act of protest, or vandalism or whatever you want to call it.

While most people, including Ai Weiwei, think Carminero was a dufus for destroying the work, some are on his side.

According to the Miami New Times:

"I think it's the most courageous act ever undertaen by a Miami artist," says Sergio Garcia, a 54-year-old Cuban-born artist. "I commend Maximo Caminero totally for his actions and think he has helped squarely focus attention from the international community on the plight of local artists."

Who knew artists were so strident?  I don't pretend to know whether local artists in Miami get the short shrift as far as museum showings go, but are we going to have some sort of artists riot?

Will international artists and those from the local area start smashing each others' work in a war of attrition? Which ever side has the most artwork left after the riots gets to display them in what's left of the museums?

On the bright side, maybe we can turn the dispute among artists into some sort of performance art. Museums can sell tickets, and the proceeds can go toward buying more art.

Which would probably be promptly destroyed by more protesting artists
