Florida Woman Carjacks Reporter's Van. News Film Makes Cops' Job Easy

Here's a Journalism 101 lesson for you:
Florida woman steals reporter's TV van
because she objected to story the reporter was working on.

If you're going to steal a reporter's car because you don't like the story he's working, don't do it while the reporter is filming the whole thing. It makes it too easy for the cops.

Josh Taylor, a reporter for WTXL-TV the ABC affilliate in Sarasota, Florida, was investigating a report of fraud in Siesta Key, Fla.

Yes, yes, all the strange crimes come from Florida and here's another one.

Apparently, a house was being advertised as having 11 bedrooms and room for 25 to 30 people, when that was not the case. The house was much smaller, and couldn't handle that many people, according to reports. That false advertising would make this a fraud case.

Taylor wanted to get the homeowner's side of the story, as pretty much any reporter would. He encountered a woman named Jean Price, who allegedly works for the homeowner.

She strenuously objected to Taylor's attempts at reporting the story. She said "You're not doing a story" even though Taylor had the right to be there, as he was on a public street. And of course, Price is not his editor, so he could do the story even if Price objected.

So Price, took Taylor's camera tripod, stuffed it in his reporter's van, got in and drove off in the van, all as Taylor filmed these proceedings.

She drove it a ways down the road, walked back and again informed Taylor he was not doing the story. Problem was, Taylor had called the police, who were then on their way to arrest Price and charge her with grand theft auto.

I'm sure Taylor's footage was very helpful to the police as they investigated this. Nothing like making things easy for the cops, huh, Jean Price?

In the end, Taylor didn't get his fraud story. At least not yet. That's coming, supposedly. He did get a nice story though, on a bizarre, kooky woman getting arrested for grand theft auto.

Film at 11!

Here's the video:

Dennis Hlynsky's Awesome Bird And Nature Videos Are Mesmerizing

Hat tip to brother in law David Jenne for this awesome video.
A still from one of Denns Hlysky's fascinating videos.

The videographer, Dennis Hlynsky tracked the path of birds somewhere in Massachusetts, near the Rhode Island border.

He layers frame upon frame in videos like the one below to track the flight of the birds.

The result is something totally mesmerizing.

Hlynksy has dozens of awesome videos he has made on Vimeo.

Watch and see one of the bird videos for yourself and be amazed.

Bee-Ware: Worst Place EVER To Burglarize Is Beehive Shed

Police in Hampton, Britain said they are looking for a burglar who is in pain and has a sudden aversion to honey.
This guy gives us honey, and fights crime, too!

Most burglars tend to target banks, convenience stores, unoccupied homes, things like that.

Burglarizing such places have on the job hazards such as getting shot, arrested or beaten by unhappy victims. However, most burglard don't end up getting stung by a bunch of bees.

This particular burglar in Hampton decided it would be a good idea to burglarize a shed housing busy, fully functioning bee hives, according to the local paper called the Richmond and Twickenham Times.

(Side note: I love the name of the town Twickenham)

Anyway, there's no word on what, if anything the burgler took. Local authorities say they hope the bee stings make it easy to catch the perp:

According to the R&T Times:

"..... police said (the burglar) would have been stung numerous times and are appealing to pharmacists and hospital workers to come forward if they have encountered a sting-pocked person.

Detective Sergeant Chris Brown said: 'Bee stings at this time of the year are unusual and we would ask that you get in contact with police.'"

That would be kind of cool: All those bees unwittingly turning in a criminal because people normally wouldn't get stung by bees this time of year.

The R&T Times helpfully notes: "A spate of shed burglaries have hit the area in recent weeks, with police advising people to lock their valuables away, although enlisting the help of insects may be an idea."

I might just invest in some guard bees to protect my house. Would that qualify me for a lower home insurance rate?

Could We Stop Shooting Each Other At The Slightest Provocation, Please

Last week I read the disheartening, to say the least, news about some moron in West Virginia who shot two people to death because he believed the two men were trespassing on his property, according to television station WSAZ.
This yahoo's first thought when
he believed to people were trespassing
on his property (they weren't)
was to shoot them, polie said.

Turns out the two brothers that were killed, Garrick and Carl Hopkins, both in their early 60s, were on their own property that they just purchased and weren't trespassing on the property of the accused, Rodney Black, 62.

But that's totally besides the point.

Even if the Hopkins brothers were tramping through the accused murderer's front lawn, how is that justification for shooting?

Black couldn't try to shoo them away or call the cops or even threaten them a bit if he thought they were trespassing? The first thing he tried was shooting them?

According to WSAZ, Black told police he saw the Hopkins brothers shaking a door on what he said was his own shed (it wasn't), didn't warn them to leave and just blasted away with his gun.

This is sort of like that theater shooting in Florida last month  where two guys got into an argument because the older guy didn't like the younger guy texting during the previews. It got heated enough so that the younger guy threw a bag of popcorn at the other guy, who in what was his mind a measured response anyway, shot the popcorn bag thrower to death.

The older guy's defense was he felt threatened. Then why did he leave the theater to talk to a manager and then come back? Oh well.

What is it about this tiny minority of gun owners who think the solution to every problem is to kill someone?  Cripes, if I say one of them is wearing a sort of ugly shirt, he'd probably open fire with an AK-47. Or bazooka.

The Second Amendment says we have the right to own guns. Fine. Can someone explain to me please, where in the Second Amendment does it say we can shoot somebody at the slightest provocation?

And surely these gun nuts don't want it to work both ways. I believe they think they can shoot anything and anyone they want and they're above the law.

What I mean by "gun nut" by the way, are not the people are merely enthusiastic about the Second Amendment. They're fine.

I'm talking about the paranoid weirdos who shoot and ask questions later, who think the world is being taken over by Marxists bent on making us all subservient sheeple, that they have to stockpile weapons, that the Revolution Is Coming and the Must Overthrow The Obama Dictatorship!!!

Or something like that. These crazies like to hide behind the Second Amendment to support their rootin' shootin' tootin' paranoid fantasies.

Then there's the people who get their hands on all kinds of guns, even when it's not legal. Like the recent case of a meth smoking, white supremacist felon in Washington State who managed to amass something of an arsenal

I don't have any solutions here. There are some obvious ones, but it seems not enough people want to enforce existing laws, or enact very mild regulations on guns, without taking away the right for most of us to own guns.

Because after all, we can limit free speech under the First Amendment, but don't you dare limit anything under the Second Amendment.

Oklahoma Lawmaker Says He Found Way To Stop Gay Marriage: Just Ban All Marriages

Some people just hate the idea of same sex marriage, and are getting more and more alarmed as more states and more countries make these unions legal.
Mike Turner, an Oklahoma state legislator,
said he'd like to ban all marriages as a way
to prevent gay marriages.

One of the people who doesn't like gay marriage is Mike Turner, a state legislator in Oklahoma.

As courts and legislatures and voters approve gay marriage in other states, Turner says he's found a way to prevent any gay marriages from taking place in Oklahoma.

Turner says he'd just ban all marriages.

Turner, and other Oklahoma opponents of same sex marriage are in a bit of a tizzy because a federal judge recently invalidated Oklahoma's constitutional amendment banning such marriages.

The judge cited the U.S. Supreme Court's June decision that held the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.

DOMA was basically a federal ban on same sex marriages. The decision on the Oklahoma marriage situation is under appeal.

The gay marriage ban in Oklahoma remains in place while the court case is under appeal.

Of course, if you thought the nation's current mishmash of laws either approving of or banning same sex marriage makes for confusing case law, imagine what Turners' ban on all marriages would do.

Like everywhere, Oklahoma has a huge number of married couples. Do they all have to get a divorce?  Would one spouse have to move out of the house? Where would they go? That would surely create a boom in new housing construction!

Or if the overall marriage ban went into effect, would couples just have to live together, in SIN?!!? After all, if they're not married, they're cohabitating. I don't know how well that would go in conservative, religious Oklahoma.

And here's a problem common to both mixed gender and same sex marriages. If someone gets married in a state where marriage is legal, then moves to Oklahoma, what happens to the marriage? Nullified? What?

Of course, people could still get married in Oklahoma under Turner's insane idea, but it wouldn't be state sanctioned.  So is that a real marriage or not?

Maybe Turner and his ilk should just calm down. In states where same sex marriage is legal, the sky didn't fall and it won't in Oklahoma (At least not more than usual, given all the tornadoes and storms they get in Oklahama)

It also seems same sex marriage hasn't ruined all other marriages despite the hysteria I've heard for years from opponents. If Turner doesn't like gay marriage, then he shouldn't get gay married.

If he doesn't like gay marriage, he's free to say so.  He sounds like he's a church kind of guy. So let's wait until Judgement Day to decide who's right.

"Cartoon Face" Criminal Doesn't Look Cartoony Like His Police Sketch

Two women in Texas got mugged last month.
The police sketch of the perp, and the alleged
perp after his arrest. The photograph looks a
bit more sinister, doesn't it?

Police started an investigation, and of course had the women describe the suspect, so they could draw a likeness and go after the perp.

The frightened women probably didn't give a great description, and the resulting sketch looked like the criminal was cartoon drawn by a five year old.

An evil cartoon?

It turns out, no. A guy by the name of Gleen Edwin Rundles was charged the other day with aggravated robbery, indecent exposure and burglary.  He looks nothing like the police sketch.

I have no idea if that will affect his court case, but at least we can be assured no cartoons are assaulting defenseless, innocent women in Texas. Or anywhere for that matter

Cute "Puppy Love" Budweiser Commercial Is Sign Of The End Times, Says Wacko

A lot of you I'm sure have seen that "Awww, Ain't That Cute!" Budweiser Superbowl commercial I wrote about the other day, the one about the persistent puppy's friendship with the Clydesdale horse.
This guy informs us that cute puppy/Clydesdale
Budweiser ad is a commercial promoting
the Antichrist end times.

Well, guess what?  What we thought was an adorable ad is the Antichrist heralding the end times.

Seriously! William Tapley says so! I has to be true!

Who the hell is William Tapley, you ask? Glad you did! He's this guy who calls himself the Third Eagle of the Apocalpyse who finds all these signs of the devil and all that taking over the world.

I want to believe he's just being a parody performance artist, but I think he takes himself serious.

He's got a TON of YouTube videos that are hilarious. (He doesn't think they're funny. They're SERIOUS, damn it! But never mind)

Anyway, the Budweiser commercial: See, the little puppy keeps escaping from its pen.  He's a rule breaker. That's a sure sign of the apocalypse. The puppy befriends a horse, one of the four horse of the apocalypse, you see.
WATCH OUT: Cute puppy in this ad is
really the Antichrist!

The puppy is eventually adopted by somebody, but as the new owner drives away,  the horse and his horse buddies (Horses of the Apocalypse!!) intervene and stop this.

The commercial ends with the puppy, which is the Antichrist, triumphantly leading the apocalypse horses back to the farm, where the hapless humans embrace them all and live happily ever after.

IN HELL!!!!

Which proves THE END TIMES ARE HERE!!!

This Tapley video about the Budweiser puppy commercial is awesome, but it doesn't beat the ones he did  few years ago, that "proved" the new Denver Airport was one big phallic symbol, another sign of the end times.

Those videos were the subject of a hilarious CNN/Anderson Cooper Ridiculist segment a couple years back.

But today's End Times subject is this dangerous puppy Budweiser commercial (Which has 25 million hits already, Yikes! We're all being taken in by the Antichrist!)

So here's Tapley's hilarious YouTube take on the puppy commercial (Hat tip to Joe Jervis' JoeMyGod blog for noticing this)
